CENTRAL QUEENSLAND TO HOST HASSALLS NEXT MEGA AUCTION

The next round in the $50 million dispersal of ex-Curtis Island equipment will kick off in Gracemere (Rockhampton) this Wednesday 10 August at 10am.

Local businessmen, tradies and farmers are expected to flood Hassalls’ sale yard for the monumental sale, which will see more than 300 lots of construction and plant equipment, trucks, trailers, light commercial vehicles, toolboxes, generators and spare parts go under the hammer at a fraction of their new price.

Hassalls General Manager Steve Wall said last month was the biggest Curtis Island auction to date, with a 96% per cent clearance rate.

“At last month’s auction, the community came out in numbers we haven’t seen before and we’re expecting similar numbers this Wednesday,” Mr Wall said.

“The variety and quantity of gear we’ve got this time is staggering, so locals after anything from a Knaack toolbox to a large commercial truck, this is a great opportunity to save big.”

Mr Wall said some late model repossessed Caterpillar Graders fitted with GPS tracking systems are available and sure to sell on the day.

“These Caterpillar Graders are both current M model machines and will be fabulous buying,” Mr Wall said.

Hassalls will be supporting the local Gracemere Lions Club through the auction, who will benefit from the catering proceeds on the day.

“Our auctions are a great opportunity for local community groups to raise funds for important causes,” Hassalls Gracemere Auction Supervisor Clinton Taylor said.

“The Gracemere Lions Club have catered for a few of our auctions now, which is good because there’s always a few hundred hungry buyers to feed.”

The auction is one of a series of Curtis Island LNG Project sales on behalf of NYSE-listed Liquidity Services, which has over 7,000 clients, three million registered buyers and achieves over $1 billion in sales annually.
