HASSALLS TO HOST FINAL UNRESERVED CURTIS ISLAND AUCTION

HASSALLS TO HOST FINAL UNRESERVED CURTIS ISLAND AUCTION

After 18 months of successful on-site auctions, leading resource auctioneers Hassalls will host its final unreserved sale of Curtis Island equipment in Gracemere from 10am this Thursday 20 April.

Choosing to spread the project across 18 on-site auctions in Central Queensland, Hassalls’ dispersal of the Curtis Island LNG Plant has seen $50 million dollars’ worth of second hand equipment sell across 14,000 lots, with the sales consistently averaging clearance rates above 90 per cent.

Hassalls General Manager Steve Wall has been overwhelmed by the success of the project, and is expecting a massive turnout come Thursday following the most recent auction in February, which saw 300 buyers snap up more than 540 lots at a 95 per cent clearance rate.

“With more than 400 lots being made available to the public, the volume of equipment we have at our final auction is staggering, especially since its unreserved and everything must sell on the day,” Mr Wall said.

“There’s a lot on offer for the locals, with 20 plus trailers and around 60 shipping containers, utes, construction equipment, ancillary gear, demountable buildings and much more set to go under the hammer.

“This is your last chance to pick up quality second-hand gear from the Curtis Island project, and given the sale is unreserved buyers should get in early so they don’t miss out.”

Those who cannot come in person can still get in on the action with Hassalls’ live online bidding, which has proven popular across the entire dispersal project with more than 50,000 unique users bidding on the sales since August 2015.
